Starting at sundown on Feb. 24 and ending at roughly 10 p.m. on Feb, 25, the team at RDS worked tirelessly to deliver roughly 1,000 Purim gifts to recipients throughout the New York City area. For the past 13 years, it has been our privilege to handle this very important task for our friends at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun, a vibrant Orthodox Jewish synagogue on the Upper East Side.
This is a huge undertaking that requires extensive pre-delivery planning to coordinate the technology, data points and logistics involved. On delivery day, it starts with our warehouse employees picking, packing and loading the gifts and continues with our drivers using smart technology to sort the packages on their trucks and arrive at their delivery points using the fastest routes. The entire operation is a testament to the depth and breadth of RDS’ delivery services.
We take great pride in our gift delivery role on this important holiday, which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from extermination by Haman. Purim is a day of feasting, gladness and rejoicing—and also includes sending gifts to the poor.

We are incredibly proud of our amazing fleet of service vehicles. They are our pride and joy. Of course, it goes without saying that they take a beating as they travel the streets of the tri-state area seven days a week—through all kinds of weather.
Each weekend, a dedicated team of RDS employees spends time giving our vehicles the care and attention they deserve. From washing and waxing to topping off fluids and fixing broken parts, we make sure our vehicles sparkle and shine. We also perform preventive maintenance on our fleet’s brakes and other systems so our vehicles are reliable and safe.
We see our fleet as rolling ambassadors of the company, so it’s important for us to send the right message: That we are consummate professionals who pay attention to every detail, resulting in service that dazzles.

Has it really been two years already? Last month, we reached the second anniversary of the move to our corporate headquarters in Long Island City. This 10,000-square-foot little slice of heaven has truly become home for us.
The Zogby family first became involved with RDS in 1973. Owner Larry Zogby and his brother, David, have been a part of the company for 35 years. RDS has certainly come a long way since our first home in Brooklyn and our two other locations in New York City. Our new facility is carefully laid out, comfortable and conveniently located, which not only makes us all happier—but makes performing our jobs easier, too.
To celebrate this milestone, the team gathered to enjoy a potluck lunch, which included a special dish or dessert from each team member. The mood was festive with music, decorations and RDS-themed cakes. Larry Zogby closed out the event by recognizing the “super power” of each employee and highlighting the team’s overall strengths and positive culture.
You can visit our home by scheduling a Meet & Greet with Larry Zogby. Use his calendar to sign up.
In January, Larry Zogby was chosen as the newest president of the New York State Messenger Courier Association, which has been serving the messenger and courier companies in New York State since 1945.
This is a huge responsibility, but we know Zogby is up to the task. In many ways, he’s been preparing for it for years. In addition to his role at RDS, his leadership positions have included:
