We’re Using Technology to Help Those in Need, Too!

Our technology doesn’t just make us a better company. It makes us a better corporate citizen that is able to help members of our community. Most of you are very familiar with RDS’ ongoing efforts to deliver meals to those in need throughout the pandemic. It started with one random act of kindness in March 2020 and has grown into an ongoing effort in which we have now delivered more than 350,000 meals to our frontline heroes, senior citizen shut-ins and those served by community-based organizations.

Here’s an example of how technology plays a huge role in RDS’ humanitarian efforts:

After meeting with the team at the East Side House Settlement in December 2020, RDS owner Larry Zogby wanted to find a way to help this incredible organization and the people it serves. So he and his team got to work, analyzing and reviewing all data points/daily imports in the RDS system. Using the SmartRoutes program, they set up the most efficient routes for delivery in the Bronx. This enabled RDS drivers, with the simple push of a button, to use next-stop directions from their GPS systems to make these deliveries. Meanwhile, RDS was able to keep track of everything through daily reporting and metrics while customers had access to information through their RDS delivery portals.

The results? RDS was able to deliver thousands of meals in just a few weeks during January!

And we’re not finished! As part of our ongoing effort, we continue to deliver thousands of meals every week. We feel blessed to be part of this worthwhile cause!

Our Warm Office Space Helps Energize Our Team, Our Clients

At RDS, we want our office space to be a warm and inviting place for our employees, our customers and our visitors. We also want it to be a place where we celebrate who we are and what we do. That’s why we partnered with KickCharge Creative to create stunning wall and door wraps throughout our building.

We started with a wall wrap that acknowledges the one random act of kindness that led to our ongoing meal delivery effort—a true miracle that will always be a cornerstone of the RDS history and culture.

Since then, we have also wrapped several doors and a conference room wall where Zoom calls are conducted.

This latest wall wrap creates a warm, inviting atmosphere where clients and prospective clients can share in our energy and confidence and feel like they are part of our RDS family. Many of them say they feel like they’re sitting right there in the conference room with us!

I will definitely be using this service again.
