He’s Always Been Our Business Hero!

Do you know a hero? We do! Larry was recently honored by the Queens Chamber of Commerce as one of its Business Heroes of the Year. The event was held at Terrace on the Park.

The award recognized Larry’s idea to turn One Random Act of Kindness into a movement that helped keep frontline workers, seniors and the homeless fed during the lockdown. The effort included local restaurants and still continues today. To date, it has provided more than 350,000 meals to grateful recipients. RDS also was honored for helping the chamber transport more than 1,000,000 face masks and other PPE (personal protective equipment) to small businesses during the height of the pandemic.

RDS is the experienced choice for all of your medical courier services, including COVID-19 testing transportation. Learn more here.

We Celebrated a Milestone—3 Years in Our Long Island City Home!

Has it really been three years since we moved into our state-of-the-art headquarters in Long Island City? Some days, it feels like just three months.

During this time, we have faced incredible challenges, but we’ve also experienced great joy and major accomplishments, such as our Random Act of Kindness initiative.

To celebrate our milestone, we pulled out all of the stops with colorful decorations, great food and great music. We also played our own version of the “The Price Is Right.” Team members got to spin the wheel for prizes!

The RDS Employee Spotlight Is Focused on Sofia!

We’re so proud of our amazing team and we want you to learn how amazing they are, too. Let us introduce you to Sofia di Lello, an RDS customer service representative who works remotely from her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What makes RDS the “complete package” for you?

RDS has the most wonderful, kind and generous people. I´ve been working in this company for six months now, and I can say it´s been my best working experience so far. This is a place where you can be human, people care about each other and being sensitive is not seen as a weakness, but as a strength.

How does RDS “deliver the goods” to make your life easier or fun at work?

RDS makes sure you have every necessary tool to succeed in your tasks, the training process is very thorough and, while carrying out the tasks, you have co-workers you can rely on if you need something. Everyone is willingly available and ready to answer with a smile.

How do you “deliver the goods” to make RDS’ customers happy?

I am a customer service representative at RDS, so my main task is to respond to customers’ needs. I answer the phone, emails and take orders. But I do realize that something as small as saying “How are you today?” and being kind can bring a smile into someone´s face, so that´s my first approach to customers. That´s what makes the difference.

When you’re not at work, what “transports” and fulfills you?

I am a very active person. I am a singer and play the guitar, and I love writing my own songs. Besides that, working out is something that takes the stress away and boosts my energy. I like cooking and I love riding my motorcycle! Let´s not forget about my cat, who keeps me company while working. His name is Rafael.

We’re ‘Driven’ to Help Kids in NYC!

Nothing makes the employees of RDS happier than making our community a better place to live. One of our favorite efforts involves collecting items for the annual Queens Chamber of Commerce toy drive. This event truly makes a difference in the lives of area children.

How about you? Are you involved in efforts that build up your neighborhood, your community, our great country or the world at large? If not, we highly encourage you to get involved. It’s so rewarding!
