RDS also works hand in hand with local blood banks to pick up and
deliver blood samples, tissue and other precious cargo to a network

RDS will file and store your charts at our spacious facility. The
modern site is climate controlled to allow maximum protection. Medical records, charts, & films are packed in specially
designed boxes to accommodate their size and weight. They are then bar coded and stored for easy access. Through our
computerized inventory system we are able to record individual charts by patients first and last name, date of birth and
type of medical test. A complete log, on paper and disk is then forwarded to you for complete inventory control.
Outlined below is a step by step process of how we can assist you. This
will not only save you time and money but will give you peace of mind when you need to retrieve your records and charts in
a timely fashion.
We will assign an account executive to work hand in hand with you or your manager to oversee the procedure of initial
transfer of medical charts to our warehouse.
We can provide our own temporary staffers to assist you in preparing
your medical records for initial pickup. They could assist you in
the following way; sorting, organizing and boxing your medical records.
We have specially designed double wall-constructed boxes to handle the heavy weight of the medical charts. We have
specific boxes to accommodate chest x-ray size film and smaller boxes to accommodate mammograms and small charts. Double
wall boxes are required for the safe keeping of the charts and films.
We will record each medical record or chart with the following information; patients first and last name, date of birth or
chart number, and type of test. This will insure a proper inventory of all records and insure prompt retrieval. All data
processing includes a complete audit and review of information entered to insure complete accuracy.
Bar-code identification numbers will be attached to all boxes. This
will provide tracking of all boxes. Each record entered into our
system will be assigned a control number and this will track the
movement of each separate record accordingly.
We will provide you a complete detailed report of records entered in our database. This is the report that will be used to
request retrievals. When calling RDS simply refer to either the control number for the specific chart or bar code for the
entire box. This will ensure an accurate and successful retrieval.
RDS provides same day rush retrieval (approximate 4 hour svc) and standard overnight retrieval of records stored. Place a
request the day prior and records will be delivered the next day before noon. As you are finished with the retrieved item
simply call us and we will refill it back into the box it was retrieved from.
RDS Delivery Service Storage Center is protected with 24 hour video surveillance cameras. Activity to and from premises is
recorded continuously. Buildings are fully equipped with sprinkler systems and smoke detection devices. Access to storage
facility is limited to authorized employees and personal only. RDS will release documents and records to acknowledge
retrieval orders from only those persons authorized by you, the client.
